Joseph W. Seidlin was born in Rockford, Illinois in 1960. He attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, earning his bachelor's degree in political science and economics in 1982, and his law degree in 1985. Before entering private practice in Des Moines in 1992, Mr. Seidlin practiced law in Ames, Waterloo, and Mason City, Iowa. He also served as corporate counsel for the Farm Credit System. His current practice focuses on all aspects of family law and divorce, including property and debt distribution, alimony, child custody, paternity and child support disputes. Mr. Seidlin also has an active mediation practice, helping other attorneys and their clients resolve their family law disputes. Mr. Seidlin is a member of the Family Law sections of the American and Iowa State Bar Associations. He has written and lectured on various family law topics. He has represented clients throughout the State of Iowa, and in all Central Iowa counties.
